Day 3: Into Nelson's County

HMS Victory
is the famous flagship Lord Nelson sailed in during the battle of Trafalgar. Whilst I dislike all war and conflict, I do like historic ships.
My connection with Nelson and Victory is personal. My 42 year old son, Barney was a senior shipwright prior to his current housebuilding and carpentry. He spent years restoring HMS Victory. I enjoyed hearing all his stories about this 1778 ship. Though there's little left of the original ship, he tells me.
Impermanence again.
Cycling through Norfolk, I'm reminded of Nelson.
Today was quite tough and gritty with a strong Easterly headwind all day. But I enjoyed being outdoors and the pleasure of being able to cycle 35 miles without having to think about it - at the age of 66.
I had an excellent stay in The Crown in Mundford and headed out through the forest roads around 09.30.
The day was a bit of an uneventful slog through the forests and broad fields of West Norfolk into Norwich. I got into the by 3pm so I chilled out at the Market Square with coffee and cake.
I then cycled back out through the suburbs to stay with my friends Sujana and Alokadhara in South Norwich.
Great to arrive here around 5 and be greeted with tea, a shower, food and great conversation - in that order.
We have an excellent evening together.
Suffolk tomorrow.
