The Rainbow Road

All my adult life I've wanted to do a road trip across the USA. Well, right now I'm doing one with AB & SB. Our two bikes are on the back of the car and we're driving all day through utterly spectacular landscapes. It's amazing.
As we drove out of Missoula at 9am this morning, a rainbow arced across the road - an auspicious sign.
Having reached Arco (a 'one-horse' town in Idaho) at 3.15 and found the trail we planned to walk on shut for repairs, we decided to press on to Salt Lake City and stay there tonight in a motel. That will make it over 400 miles today.
We had planned to stay in Arco, but there was very little there - perhaps not even a restaurant. A tiny town in the middle of a great plain with mountains in the background.
The weather is beautiful.
Tonight we'll be in Utah at last. Mormon country and the start of our great cycling adventure.
