Monday morning, we start our big cycle ride properly from Frisco, Utah - a further 227 miles south.
Tomorrow night, we stay in a cabin in Idaho, so I'm looking forward to that.
I expect the road trip will be great. I've wanted to do an American road trip all my life. The weather is good right now.
Today saw me get things prepared and also take time out for fun. I fully completed all the prep to my bike and had a good cycle ride into the Montana countryside. I took a long scening cycling lane out of town to a small place called Lolo. It felt good and I seem to have recovered from my infection. At one point I had to carry my bike over a
fallen pine pine tree which was completely blocking the cycle path.
In the afternoon, I then had cycled into town and found a Music shop where I bought two harmonicas. Playing American ballads around the campfire whilst camping in the wilderness feels like a nice thing to do at the end of a hard day's cycling.
I also got our brand-new tents pitched and treated the seams with waterproofing - just to be sure. I'm told that if it rains in Utah, it really rains.
